Once upon a time, before netbooks and smart phones, eReaders and iPods, a dreamer was born.

At a very young age, she discovered the world of books.

That world was a wonderful place.  A mystical, magical place.

A place laced with mystery and romance.  Filled with danger and suspense.  Laughter and tears.

A place where heroes reside in their sometimes not-so-shining armor and  smart, brave heroines tend to rescue themselves.

A place where right behind the next star,  an adventure waited to whisk her off to faraway places and she could do anything she wanted to do.  See anything she wanted to see.  Be anything she wanted to be.

Where Magick reigned.

*****

As you can tell,  I have always loved stories.  Books, magazines, newspapers, anything containing the written word.  By the time I was eight years old, I’d read the complete series of Nancy Drew (loved the way that she could come and go as she pleased),  the Hardy Boys (had a major crush on Frank Hardy), and the Trixie Belden series (never did learn to whistle like a bob-white).

At nine years of age, I’d completed my first novel of a boy and girl searching for a lost book in the desert.  Complete with trap doors in the sand and talking camels, it was my first attempt at a genre that today is called ‘paranormal’.   It was only 90 pages long, but whetted my appetite for spinning yarns and telling tales.

Today, I am a pediatric nurse  but started writing Young Adult novels for publication about a year ago.  I love writing stories based on myths and legends, guardians and quests, all in a contemporary setting.

Having lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas, I now call North Texas home where I live with my very own hero husband.  My passions are reading, writing, scrapbooking, gardening, and techno gadgets.

Let’s get a refill on that beverage and add a munchie or two (chips and chocolate for me) and follow along as I travel the road of adventure my characters take me on.

Where the magick still reigns.

Now, click over to my blog.   I’d love to hear all about YOU!

I Believe

I believe in dreams. I wish on stars. I believe there is magic everywhere and in everything.

I care for many, but only truly love a few.

I believe in God.

Plan ahead, but don’t let it keep you from living now.

Give it your best shot and let others do the same. And help each other pick up the pieces when and if it is needed.

Learn to laugh at yourself.

Never, ever judge. You cannot know what goes on behind closed doors or how it feels to walk in someone elses shoes.

Learn from the past and take a chance on the future.

Find a passion and follow it.

Life is tough and that is okay. Disappointment and hurt. Skyrocketing highs and despairing lows. Broken hearts. Just remember, under no circumstances, let it keep you from trying again.

Never, NEVER quit. Tomorrow may the day your dreams come true.

And lastly, don’t just exist. Make the most of your life. It is a gift to you and what you do with it is your gift back.
